Virginia Tech has been sending a lot of new offers to 2021 and 2022 recruits recently but one new in-state offer drew a little more attention than others, three-star 757 LB Michael Green.
Excited to say I have received an offer from Virginia Tech big thanks to @Coach_Smitty and more for this great opportunity #Hokies‼️🦃 pic.twitter.com/J1o5LZ2IpM

Green told us that it was "pretty sick" to receive an offer from Virginia Tech because "everyone loves them." Part of that may be due to the fact that Green plays at Lafayette High School in Williamsburg, VA, the same school where where former VT WR Hezekiah Grimsley played.
He expanded on why this is a big offer for him and how it may be a big one for his recruitment as a whole.
"It seems that VT is huge, and everyone loves them and always got good things to say," Green said.
Green added that after this offer, the Hokies are "up there" at this point though he has no schools standing out currently with a top 10 coming on May 1st.
One of the intriguing things with Michael Green is his versatility with Virginia Tech among the schools recruiting him as an outside linebacker along with Ole Miss, Syracuse, Boston College, Virginia, and Temple. Meanwhile, Western Kentucky is pursuing him on both sides of the ball and a host of schools see him as a tight end including Kansas State, Pittsburgh, and East Carolina (see his offer list here).
While some athletes would have a preference for one side of the other, Green told us that he doesn't have a preference for either position at the moment.
Looking ahead, Green told us that he doesn't have one school he is focusing on looking to visit after the current dead period ends looking to visit "all" of the schools that have offered him. The Hokies will definitely be looking to secure a visit from him which would be Green's first trip to Blacksburg.
Going forward, expect Michael Green to be one of Virginia Tech's top priorities with CBs coach Ryan Smith leading the charge as the Hokies look to land one of the 757's top 2021 recruits.
