Williams is the fifth Hokie l, and first on the offensive line, to announce his intentions to enter the transfer portal. He joins the likes of DT Malachi Madison, DL Khurtiss Perry, and others in making this decision.
He will have three years of eligibility remaining. During his time at Virginia Tech, he was never able to break into the offensive line rotation though two years is obviously not a long time to achieve that.
His departure may mean that finding a young center to backup Braelin Moore and be the future there may rise on the priority list. This could also be a sign that true freshman Tommy Ricard is showing a lot of promise as well and may be that future over Williams or walk-on Caleb Nitta.
