When Virginia Tech's offense found their rhythm last season, Bhayshul Tuten showed off his massive talent and upside that he had, running for 863 yards and 10 touchdowns including four games with 100+ rushing yards. That made Tuten a surprise snub from the Preseason All-ACC Team especially at the all-purpose player spot given his additional talents as a kick returner, returning a pair of kickoffs last season.
This season, Tech's offense has not had as good of a start to the season as many hoped for. However, Bhayshul Tuten has exceeded expectations and is not only a top All-ACC First Team candidate alongside North Carolina's Omarion Hampton, but is also emerging as an All-American candidate, building a strong case through the first five games of the season.
When you're trying to figure out who should earn the highest honors in the sport, you have to look at not only the players producing massive numbers but also those who are doing so in important moments and against quality opponents.
