While three-star TE Willie Rodriguez may be Virginia Tech's top TE option at the moment, the Hokies are continuing to evaluate other tight ends which includes showing three-star TE Noah Onyia out of Lawrenceville, GA.

He had this to say about the interest that he's receiving from Virginia Tech.

"I would say a good amount (of interest). (TEs) Coach (Stu) Holt and coach (Jeff) Carpenter do a good job of reaching out to me to make sure I am doing great, and always mention how pumped they are for me to get to campus," Onyia said.

As stated, TEs coach Stu Holt and offensive analyst Jeff Carpenter have been leading Tech's interest in Onyia with his conversations with Stu Holt being "great". He had this to say about what Tech's message has been for him.

"About how well I would be used in their TE room not just as someone that goes up to get the ball, but as I put on weight, I can dominate and be aggressive while blocking," Onyia said.

Onyia told us that he has plans to visit Virginia Tech next month on July 28th where he will also camp in pursuit of a VT offer. This comes as he has a visit to Alabama this weekend and plans to visit Mississippi State, who has offered him, this fall.

This comes as Onyia has built up a solid offer list that includes Mississippi State, Georgia Tech, Memphis, Troy, Western Kentucky, Charlotte, and more. Among those who haven't offered him who have shown interest, that list includes VT, Alabama, Georgia, Florida State, Michigan State, Kentucky, Pittsburgh, Vanderbilt, and more.

Part of what makes Onyia a fascinating prospect that has lots of Power 5 programs interested is the fact that he has shown plenty of promise with great size at 6'5''+ and has only played 1 year of football. He's also plays basketball in high school with plenty of late-blooming TEs/Jumbo WRs having a basketball background.

There definitely appears to be lots of untapped potential that makes you think he could be a big riser in the fall.

As Virginia Tech looks to add 1-2 tight ends in their 2024 class, keep an eye on three-star Noah Onyia from Georgia.
