After opening the season with a 77-62 victory over Radford, Virginia Tech flew to Bubbleville at the Mohegan Sun in Connecticut ahead of games against Temple and South Florida. However, one of those games is now likely off due to COVID.
Per Temple’s release, the team will quarantine for 14 days per Philadelphia and CDC guidelines.

No #Hokies vs. Temple on Saturday. https://t.co/nWOTchsMxa
Virginia Tech-Temple is not expected to happen at this point due to COVID issues for Temple that has forced the program into a 14-day quarantine. No formal announcement has been made, but that seems inevitable.
At this point, it remains to be seen if the Hokies will receive a replacement opponent on Saturday or be limited to a Sunday game against South Florida.
While there may only be two days to schedule a new game, it definitely is possible especially with plenty of teams at the Mohegan Sun and other teams there looking to find new games due to COVID related cancellations.
Update

As of now, our next one will be on Sunday against USF https://t.co/lR7mWy44gt
Virginia Tech did not announce a replacement game with USF currently scheduled as the next opponent. However, the use of "as of now" by Tech would appear to insinuate that they are looking to add a game to replace Temple while they are at the Mohegan Sun.
