Gameday has arrived with Virginia Tech looking to keep their faint ACC Championship hopes alive with a third-straight victory while Georgia Tech is hunting for their sixth win to become bowl eligible. The Yellow Jackets will be without their starting QB Haynes King and possibly their QB of the defense Kyle Efford, but Georgia Tech will still provide a tough challenge for the Hokies.
So with that in mind, let's dive into our predictions and all our pregame coverage for the Battle of the Techs.

After a slow start to the season, Virginia Tech has lived up to their potential in ACC play with three-straight impressive performances, holding their own against a legitimate top 10 Miami team followed by dominant victories over Stanford and Boston College. It's not an accident why the Hokies are starting to be ranked in the top 25-30 of the analytics.
Georgia Tech may be without their starting QB in Haynes King, but Zach Pyron is a more than capable backup who showed that a couple years ago when he led the Yellow Jackets to a stunning comeback victory over the Hokies. The bigger concern may be on the defensive side as Georgia Tech may also be without their defensive leader in LB Kyle Efford.
Georgia Tech's run defense has been a strength of theirs, but with the way that Bhayshul Tuten has ran through some strong run defenses the past three games, I have no reason to believe Georgia Tech can slow him down for four quarters. Meanwhile, Tech's passing attack has started to find their rhythm and against a Georgia Tech pass defense that allows over a 63% completion rate and has fewer sacks total than Antwaun Powell-Ryland, that could be a recipe for a big day for Kyron Drones.
I think Jamal Haynes and GT's talented WR duo of Malik Rutherford and Eric Singleton Jr can keep the Yellow Jackets hanging around for a little bit, but the Hokies are the better team and will show that with a comfortable victory on a beautiful fall afternoon in Blacksburg.
Pick: Virginia Tech 31, Georgia Tech 17

The Hokies enter Saturday with more momentum than they’ve had all season after big wins against Stanford and Boston College, and the near upset of Miami. With this in mind and Georgia Tech being without starting QB Haynes King, Virginia Tech finds themselves favored by 10.5 points.
While Georgia Tech has one of the best rushing defenses in the conference, I don’t think they can slow down the Hokies' ACC-leading rushing attack. As long as Virginia Tech can take care of the football, they will continue their hot play and cover the spread, cruising to a 34-20 win in Lane Stadium.
