Virginia Tech came up just short at Miami, barely missing out on a Q1 win 67-66 due to Tre Donaldson's 32 points. However, the Hokies responded well on Saturday with a dominant Q2 home win against Wake Forest 82-63 that provided a significant boost to many of VT's metrics.
Many fans started ruling out VT after their losses to FSU and Miami, but the bracket projections continued having them in the Next Four Out with VT's resume still being worthy of a bubble spot even if they needed a lot of help. Tech helped themselves greatly with its blowout win over Wake Forest and has put themselves in maybe not as good of a spot as they had after the Clemson victory, but very much alive on the bubble.
So with that in mind, let's dive into the Hokies' resume.

This was a good week overall for Virginia Tech as they gained a Q2 win while seeing many of their weak predictive metrics improve significantly. Since our last update on February 17th, Virginia Tech saw an eight-spot jump (58 to 50) in the NET plus a nine-spot jump in both KenPom (65 to 56) and T-Rank (60 to 51) and a two-spot jump in BPI (69 to 67). Meanwhile, their resume-based metrics didn't really changed as VT stayed at 51 in WAB, jumped from 53 to 52 in SOR, and dropped from 39 to 40 in KPI.
