Virginia Tech has lost a transfer commitment today as 247 Sports' Chris Hummer is reporting that Baylor transfer EDGE Kamauryn Morgan has decommitted from the Hokies.

Morgan ranks as the No. 114 overall player in the portal & immediately becomes one of the top players available.https://t.co/WVE0MwFw19 pic.twitter.com/XzOgtmQqKE
With Morgan's departure, the Hokies are down to three true DE/EDGE transfers in this transfer class in Missouri's Javion Hilson plus Penn State's Mylachi Williams and Cortez Harris. Penn State DL transfer Daniel Jennings also has the versatility and size to play either defensive end or defensive tackle for the Hokies.
Morgan's departure is somewhat out of the blue and is definitely a surprise. Morgan was part of Baylor's DE rotation as a true freshman this past season and would have been a favorite to earn a spot in the two-deep and potentially earn a starting job. Morgan seems very likely to have plenty of suitors now that he's available.
For the Hokies, it remains to be seen whether they will pursue another edge rusher or stick with what they have. There aren't many quality impact options remaining, but I think the Hokies would be wise to try to bring in a more proven, veteran edge rusher to pair with what is a young DE/EDGE group for the Hokies next season to at least add some experience to the room. However, that is far easier said than done.
