The friendship between Brent Pry and James Franklin is well-documented, with Pry bringing some approaches to Virginia Tech that Franklin has used during his time at Penn State. That includes embracing how a head coach is really a CEO in modern college football, having a Signing Day celebration and event very similar to what Penn State has done while Franklin has been there, and more.
Now, even Pry is following Franklin’s example in his hiring of Philip Montgomery as offensive coordinator.
