For the first time in over a decade, Virginia Tech is searching for a new athletic director after VT announced that Whit Babcock will be retiring from the role at the end of June. This comes at a time of great change in Blacksburg with President Tim Sands announcing he will step down in the coming months while VT is also looking for a new Hokie Club leader after Danny White was promoted into a more football-centric role in the athletic department.
