Just under two months after committing to the Hokies, 2024 four-star SF AJ Swinton has announced that he has decommitted from Virginia Tech.

Swinton did add in his statement that he is still heavily considering Virginia Tech though given the importance of now former associate head coach Mike Jones in his recruitment for Tech, it's hard to see Swinton landing with the Hokies. He was Tech's lone high school commit in the 2024 class though there is still a whole lot of time left in this cycle.
So beyond continuing to recruit Swinton, where might the Hokies turn for a small forward/bigger wing in their 2024 class?
Four-star SF Drew McKenna out of Maryland and four-star SF Isaiah Abraham out of Fairfax, VA both are likely to be top targets. Four-star F Derrion Reid, three-star F Caleb Williams out of Washington D.C., and three-star F Bryce Dortch out of Massachusetts are also names to keep an eye on as well.
