Four-Star ATH Anthony Beavers Jr. Recaps His Virginia Tech "Midnight Madness" Visit

VT v UNC 2019 256

Earlier today, four-star ATH Anthony Beavers Jr. announced he has set an official visit for September 12th when Virginia Tech hosts Penn State. After having a bit more time to reflect, Beavers recapped his experience in Blacksburg for Junior Day.

"It was dope," Beavers said. "Saw the facilities, talked about the program, saw the stadium, visited the locker room. Really learned the ins and outs about Virginia Tech."

Of all the recruits on campus for the Junior Day festivities, Beavers is one of the highest rated. The Harbor City, CA native is ranked 191st for the 2021 class by 247Sports' Composite Ranking.

As a California native, Beavers has naturally been getting a lot of attention from on the West Coast. 247 Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions currently predict he will end up at USC.

With that said, Virginia Tech has clearly made an impact on Beavers. He tweeted the news of the official visit just hours after his midnight tour, and he said that the visit will force him to "do some deep thinking."

One thing that Beavers said stood out to him was the passion of the fanbase. He likes the fact that so many people around campus "want to see the student athletes succeed."

During his visit, Beavers got to meet with Virginia Tech football assistant Beau Davidson. Beavers said he had already been in contact with him, but it was nice to meet him in person.

"It was a good first meeting," Beavers said. "I also talked with a lot of the Virginia Tech staff members that deal with recruiting."

While Beavers is evaluated nationally as an athlete, the Hokies are pursuing him primarily as a safety though it's clear he has the athletic talent to play a variety of positions. However, Beavers told us that he doesn't have a particular positional preference currently.

It is clear that the Hokies are trying their best to make a great impression on a talented athlete like Beavers. So far, they seem to be doing a pretty good job. Virginia Tech will look forward to hosting him again on the weekend of September 12th for Tech's game against Penn State.
