Virginia Tech is planning on signing a smaller than normal class in 2019, but the Hokies are looking to bring in a large amount of defensive linemen. While the Hokies haven't sent out too many defensive line offers yet, VT may be close to offering a few more DLs including Mario Kendricks.
Kendricks told us that the Hokies have been showing some interest in him, and that he will be making a visit to Blacksburg over the summer. Kendricks also told us that he is hoping to receive an offer from the Hokies along with offers from Clemson and South Carolina. In addition to visiting VT as part of a summer bus trip, Kendricks will be taking a visit to Alabama on April 22nd.
The Kissimmee, FL defensive lineman told us that Duke and Georgia Tech are the two schools who are recruiting him the hardest among those who have offered him. Kendricks is receiving plenty of major interest from schools who haven't offered him including VT, Clemson, Florida State, South Carolina, and Michigan State.
Numbers are tight for Virginia Tech in the 2019 class, but VT is clearly interested in Mario Kendricks. While it remains to be seen if the Hokies do offer him, they appear to be starting to pursue him like a guy who could receive an offer soon.
