Virginia Tech's strong July continued today as the Hokies landed a commitment from underrated RB Malachi Thomas.

Thomas is the Hokies' fourth commit this month along with talented California CB D.J. Harvey, 757 LB Isi Etute, and Tennessee WR Tray Curry. He also is the second running back commit for Tech along with the versatile Chance Black who could also see plenty of time as a receiver for VT.

He had this to say about why he chose Virginia Tech.

"It just felt like home and the right place for me," Thomas said. "On the Zoom calls, the way they just talked to my family and I, and the relationship me and the coaches had made, and I just that they are the right fit for me."

Thomas is a great addition for the Hokies as though he may be unranked, watching his tape makes it clear that he likely should be at least a high three-star recruit. He has not only proven to be an extremely productive tailback, but also a versatile playmaker who had 1,942 rushing yards, 638 receiving yards, 282 return yards, and 36 total touchdowns last season.

We will have more as this story develops.
