On the eve of Early Signing Day, Virginia Tech made some noise on the recruiting trail as three-star CB Jordan Crim out of Camden, SC committed to the Hokies.
The 6'1'' Crim chose the Hokies over other offers from Georgia Tech, Duke, NC State, Indiana, Houston, UCF, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, Memphis, JMU, East Carolina, and others. He is the third defensive back commit for the Hokies in this class, joining three-star S Sheldon Robinson and three-star CB Knahlij Harrell. He is also the second commit from the state of South Carolina in this class along with three-star QB AJ Brand.
Crim had an impressive high school career with 244 tackles including six for loss with five interceptions, 29 pass breakups, five forced fumbles, four fumbles, and three blocked kicks over the past three years.
Crim has been pretty high on Virginia Tech's cornerback for a while, even as his recruitment became very quiet throughout the fall. However, the Hokies clearly were steady throughout on their way to closing it out just in time for Early Signing Day.
With Crim on board, the focus turns to whether the Hokies can add 1-2 more high school DBs to their 2025 class. Tech is still pushing for both Michigan State DB commit Aydan West out of Maryland and three-star DB Jakarrion Kenan out of South Carolina. Both West and Kenan visited Blacksburg last month with West visiting for the Clemson game and Kenan visiting for the UVA game last weekend. Both West and Kenan are making final decisions tomorrow.
Keshawn Davila, the #1 JUCO cornerback in the country, also remains a top target though his decision likely won't impact the high school numbers for this cycle. Davila will not be making a decision tomorrow, with plans to visit Arkansas this upcoming weekend.
