Virginia Tech landed their second commitment from their most recent official visit weekend as three-star DT Andrew Hanchuk chose the Hokies.
Hanchuk chose the Hokies over offers from West Virginia, Temple, Toledo, and more. His choice of the Hokies comes after he had named Tech his leader just last month.
Hanchuk is Tech's ninth commit in this class and the second from this official visit weekend along with four-star LB Gabriel Williams. He is the Hokies' third DL commit along with 3* DT Emmett Laws and 3* DE Deric Dandy while joining 3* OL Tommy Ricard as Tech's second Ohio commit this cycle.
Even with Hanchuk on board, it wouldn't be surprising to see Virginia Tech pursue another DT on the high school front before getting busy in the transfer portal this offseason with Mario Kendricks and Norell Pollard in their final seasons, and Josh Fuga having a decision to make about whether to use his COVID year or not.
