Virginia Tech already has a pair of commitments this class from four-star C Christian Gurdak and three-star F Sin'Cere Jones, but the Hokies continue to gain more traction with other top recruits in the 2025 class.
That includes 6'8'' four-star F Brady Koehler out of Indianapolis who included the Hokies in his top 5 and is set to take an official visit to Blacksburg this fall.

Koehler has also set the following visits:
Northwestern: 8/1-8/3
Iowa: 8/29-8/31
Notre Dame: 9/6-9/8
Wake Forest: 9/13-9-15
Virginia Tech: 9/27-9/29

The Hokies were joined in Koehler's top 5 by Notre Dame, Wake Forest, Iowa, and Northwestern; all of whom are set to host him on official visits this fall with Tech getting the last of the five as reported above by Dushawn London of 247 Sports.
- Northwestern: 8/13
- Iowa: 8/29-31
- Notre Dame: 9/6-8
- Wake Forest: 9/13-15
- Virginia Tech: 9/27-29
Among the notable offers not to make the cut for Koehler are Virginia, Butler, Rutgers, West Virginia, Stanford, DePaul, and more. All of this comes after Koehler had a very good junior season during which he averaged 15.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.3 blocks, and 1.4 assists in only 20.1 minutes per game while shooting 50% from the field including 39% from three-point range.
Koehler is a fascinating prospect who fits the mold of the stretch four that the Hokies want at that position while also providing some fascinating defensive upside as well. While the Hokies have two commits already, it's important to note that Tech has plenty of room this cycle, especially now that men's basketball programs can have 15 scholarship players as part of the NCAA settlement in the House case that has set new roster maximums, with all players on rosters being eligible to receive a scholarship rather than the previous max of 13.
While the Hokies have the preferred positioning for his official visit schedule, this will be a tough battle with plenty of Midwest schools involved including in-state Notre Dame. There's also the risk of having a recruit enjoy one of his earlier visits so much that you never get the chance to get him on campus.
The Hokies have put themselves in the hunt for four-star F Brady Koehler in what will be a fascinating ACC-Big 10 battle for his commitment.
