Danny Stutsman hasn't received a lot of attention, but there's no doubt that he is one of Virginia Tech's top linebacker targets in the 2021 class. Their effort and prioritization of Stutsman has paid off with the Hokies earning a spot in his top 6.

The Hokies made the top 6 for Danny Stutsman along with Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, Minnesota, and West Virginia. It's a fascinating group of schools for the Winter Garden, FL linebacker that could prove advantageous for the Hokies as possibly the closest school and one of the few that regularly faces conference opposition in that region.
Stutsman had this to say about why the Hokies made his top 6.
"They made my top six, because of the love they have show since the beginning of my recruitment. They were one of the first schools to really show interest in me and have not stopped!" Stutsman said.
Stutsman had this to say about the commonalities on why each of these six schools made the cut.
"I think some schools had different reasons but overall, it’s where I can see myself playing and if I trust the coaches with my next 4 years," Stutsman said.
Virginia Tech has been pursuing him heavily with the Hokies being in contact with Stutsman multiple times a week. Unsurprisingly, LBs coach Tracy Claeys is leading the charge for Virginia Tech with Stutsman telling us that the two have built a strong relationship over the past few months.
"We’ve been able to develop a stronger relationship since we met back in December," Stutsman said.
Claeys' significant involvement in the recruitment of Stutsman is another clear sign that the talented three-star recruit is a top linebacker priority for the Hokies in the 2021 class.
Stutsman was previously planning on visiting Virginia Tech this spring, but the NCAA instituting a dead period through the end of May in response to the coronavirus pandemic led to the cancellation of this visit. Going forward, the Hokies will likely make a big push to get Stutsman on campus sometime this summer depending on whether the dead period is extended beyond the end of May.
Virginia Tech is emerging as a top contender for priority linebacker target Danny Stutsman with plenty of stiff competition from the SEC, Big 12, and Big 10.
