Virginia Tech extended a few new offers during their Junior Day this past weekend including one to three-star OL Layth Ghannam.

Virginia Tech joined West Virginia, Appalachian State, and Marshall as Ghannam's early offers with this currently being a very Appalachia recruiting battle. Ghannam had this to say about his reaction to receiving a VT offer at the end of his Junior Day visit.
"It’s just surreal! Never would have expected to have been in this situation," Ghannam said. "The amount of validation the coaching staff gave me for all of my hard work is incredible! I can’t wait to prove them right, and keep working the same way that got me in this situation."
He received the offer during a "great conversation" with Brent Pry at the end of his visit and had this to say about how that conversation went as a whole.
"The conversation with Coach Pry was great. He was clear on what his expectations are for the program, and he wants players that want to be a part of the vision. I’m excited that he and the staff feel like I can be a fit," Ghannam said.
Beyond the excitement of being offered a scholarship at the end of his visit, Ghannam had this to say about his Virginia Tech visit went as a whole.
"The VT visit was a great experience. The facilities were top notch. The academic, nutrition, training, and meal programs were really impressive. We took a tour on buses to see the campus. We got to see the player areas and do a photoshoot. The most important thing I took from the visit was the connection the staff has with each other which really impacted me and my family," Ghannam said.
Ghannam expanded that "how welcoming the staff was" stood out the most to him during his visit with the talented OL from West Virginia having this to say about why that stood out for him.
"From the moment I walked in the facilities, I was immediately welcomed by all the coaches making me feel at home," Ghannam said.
The fact that Virginia Tech extended an offer to Layth Ghannam this early in the cycle with OL coach Joe Rudolph having a reputation for being very methodical with his offers is a major statement as well about how highly Tech views him.
Now the Hokies will hope that they can win this regional, Appalachia recruiting battle to land his commitment.
