Virginia Tech QB Devin Farrell has announced that he is entering the transfer portal.

Ferrell is the second QB and fourth scholarship Hokie to enter the transfer portal this spring joining fellow QB Tahj Bullock, RB Kenji Christian, and CB Elijah Howard. He has four years of eligibility remaining after redshirting this past season.
Farrell was the third-string quarterback for the Hokies this past season, but seemed to get passed this spring by early enrollee William Watson III who received tons of praise from coaches throughout the spring. His departure shouldn't come as a surprise given that Farrell was trending towards being QB4 behind Grant Wells, Kyron Drones, and Watson.
His departure leaves the Hokies at 88 scholarships according to my current estimation so it's safe to expect some more transfers out especially as Tech looks to bring in a couple transfers this cycle.
We will have more as this story develops.
