While the transfer portal has become the primary route to acquire early impact talent, the JUCO ranks still produce a decent amount of quality talent every year. This year, that includes 6'1'', 165-pound CB Keshawn Davila, a Tampa native playing at Northwest Mississippi CC.
Earlier this week, Davila received an offer from the Hokies that had him quite excited as he shared with us.
"I was turnt up and happy because I feel like I can come in and make an impact," Davila said.
Davila received the offer during a conversation with CBs coach Derek Jones and safeties coach Pierson Prioleau, and had this to say about how that went as a whole.
"They told me I was a top priority," Davila said.
That shouldn't be a surprise given how well Davila has played at the JUCO ranks with 35 tackles including six for loss with a sack plus two interceptions, two pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 2023. He's built on that this season with 16 tackles, one interception, and four pass breakups this season.
