Virginia Tech has been busy sending out new offers recently including one to three-star TE Mike Tyler out of Columbia, SC.

He had this to say about his reaction to receiving a Virginia Tech offer.
"I was very happy once I received the offer from VT. I received the news on a FaceTime call from Coach (Stu) Holt after a basketball game," Tyler said.
As Tyler mentioned, he received the offer during a FaceTime call with Hokies TEs coach Stu Holt. This offer didn't come out of nowhere either as the Hokies have been showing interest in Tyler for a little bit as he told us.
"I received a lot of interest from VT prior to them offering me. Coach Holt came up to school before a basketball game and we had a long talk about what I’m looking for in a school and how he thinks VT is the place for me," Tyler said.
This comes as Tyler has built up a solid offer list that; in addition to Virginia Tech, includes the likes of NC State, South Carolina, West Virginia, Wake Forest, Cincinnati, Virginia, and more.
That offer list shouldn't come as a surprise after he had 33 catches for 548 yards and seven touchdowns this past season. He also has pretty good size for the position at 6'4'' and 225 pounds while also showing signs of plus athleticism with his multi-sport background, playing basketball in addition to football.
So how does this offer impact his recruitment and where Virginia Tech stands in it?
"VT stands very high in my recruitment and I think it let other schools know that I have the grades and athletic ability to be recruited by top programs," Tyler said.
He added this on why the Hokies stand "very high" in his recruitment.
"Because of how genuine Coach Holt seems," Tyler said.
Keep an eye on the Hokies as they have already emerged as a serious contender in Mike Tyler's recruitment.
