According to Evan Watkins of 247 Sports' VT Scoop, Virginia Tech WR Dallan Wright is entering the transfer portal.

He is the fifth Hokie to enter the transfer portal this spring along with QBs Devin Farrell & Tahj Bullock, RB Kenji Christian, and CB Elijah Howard.
Wright enters the portal after spending three years in Blacksburg with injuries keeping him off the field for the 2022 season. He has at least three years of eligibility remaining though he may have 4 as he got a free year in 2020, redshirted in 2021, and could apply for a medical redshirt for 2022.
Wright's portal entry shouldn't come as a surprise as injuries held him back in 2022 and then he was never able to find traction this spring. With Tech having brought in 3 transfers along with a talented group of incoming freshmen, the writing seemed on the wall for Wright and a path to playing time in Blacksburg.
His departure puts the Hokies at 87 scholarships with 5-7 more portal entries likely as Tech looks to add 1-2 OL, 1 DL, and 1 safety this cycle.
We will have more as this story develops.
