The author failed to mention the showboating activity by B Hammond with T Lawal late in the GT game. Not taking the contested layup that he has demonstrated that he can and should make, then throwing the ball off the backward is not acceptable behavior by B Hammond. That he and Lawal are shown laughing after the not so wise feat, is not a good look. The bench is thin but I think Hammond should’ve been benched immediately. That behavior feeds the opponents comeback confidence. Clock management late in games is awful. Avdalas seems to not understand the American game. Jacking up 25-30 footers with 20 seconds on the shot clock happens way too often.
I disagree with the comment that this is the most talented team Coach Young has ever had. The team that won the ACC Tournament with the shooters, defenders and high BB IQ was phenomenal. They were clutch shooters and could protect a lead. Period.
