Virginia Tech has sent out some new offers over the past couple weeks including one recently to 2024 TE Ryan Ward out of Rutherford, NJ.

Ward had this to say about his reaction to landing a VT offer right after he received it.

"I’m definitely amazed, I’ve heard a lot of great things about VT football," Ward said.

Ward received the offer during a conversation with offensive analyst Jeff Carpenter that went well as he told us.

"It was great, they loved my film," Ward said.

Tech's interest is fairly new as well as Ward told us.

"This was actually a unique interaction. I’ve only be talking to them for a couple days now," Ward said.

Going forward, expect the Hokies to be in contact with Ward especially after an impressive junior season where he had 35 receptions for 776 yards and 13 touchdowns plus 9 tackles for loss including 4.5 sacks and a pick 6 as a two-way player. Unsurprisingly, he also earned All-State First Team honors for his impressive season.

It's safe to say that he's going to be a big time especially with putting up those type of numbers as a HS junior at tight end. So what are the strengths and weaknesses of Ward's game? He had this to say when we asked him about that.

"I feel like I’m a threat in the passing game but can block when needed," Ward said.

So how did this offer impact his recruitment and where VT stands in it?

"VT is definitely on the upper half of my list," Ward said. "Because I really got a sense that they liked me from the phone call."

Keep an eye on Ryan Ward who is rightly on the rise after an impressive junior season regardless of the fact that he's a tight end.
