2026 QB Peyton Falzone Commits to Virginia Tech

Virginia Tech got their 2026 class going today as QB Peyton Falzone out of Nazareth, PA has committed to the Hokies.

Falzone chose the Hokies over offers from Penn State, Syracuse, and others with his three Power 4 offers all coming this month. He becomes the sixth commit since the start of Sunday for the Hokies with all of the others being part of the 2025 class in three-star QB AJ Brand, three-star LB Noah Chambers, three-star DE Zeke Chinwike, three-star OL Nathaniel Wright, and three-star RB Jeff Overton Jr.

As a sophomore, Falzone put up impressive numbers for Nazareth HS throwing for 2,527 yards, 19 touchdowns, and only four interceptions with a 61.2% completion rate while running for 447 yards and 10 touchdowns, averaging 6.7 yards per carry in the process.

The Hokies were the first Power 4 offer for Falzone with Penn State and Syracuse jumping in the 6'5'' quarterback's recruitment soon after. Falzone took a visit to Virginia Tech last weekend that must've gone quite well to reach the point where he decided to become Tech's first commit in the 2026 class.

Falzone fits the dual-threat mold that the Hokies are looking for in a quarterback even if his sophomore stats feel more pass-heavy. His athletic ability was on display this spring as he ran a 11.05 100 meter dash time, a good time for a sophomore that shows he has the type of speed to be a threat in the running game.

It's unknown at this time if the Hokies plan to take two quarterbacks in the next class though with the transfer portal era that we're in, it wouldn't be a major surprise if they did to ensure they have some consistent scholarship QB depth. If they do, three-star QB Jayvon Gilmore out of South Carolina and three-star QB Jackson Presley out of Montana are names to watch with Gilmore including VT in his top 5 and Presley including VT in his top 6.
