The Atlantic Coast Conference made it official Tuesday evening: Virginia Tech guard Carleigh Wenzel and forward Carys Baker are among the best players the league has to offer. Both players earned All-ACC Second Team recognition — the first career All-ACC selections for both student-athletes — with both earning a spot through the Coaches Poll. Wenzel also landed on the Blue Ribbon Panel's All-ACC Second Team.

The tandem led Virginia Tech to a 22-8 (12-6 ACC) record in Megan Duffy's second season at the helm. It is just the fifth time that Tech has ended the regular season with double-digit wins in conference play as a member of the ACC.

Wenzel directed Virginia Tech's offense with efficiency and balance, averaging 14.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game, ranked top 25 in 10 statistical categories among league competitors. During the 18-game ACC slate, Wenzel's production elevated, posting 16.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.3 three-pointers per game. She registered double-figure scoring in 17 of those contests, the most double-figure scoring performances in ACC games for a Hokie since Liz Kitley and Georgia Amoore each scored in 17 of 18 regular season games during the 2023-24 season. Wenzel is on a 14-game double-figure scoring streak, one of the longest active streaks among ACC players.

The guard had several standout performances in conference play, including her career-high 29 points on the road at Virginia on March 1st.

Wenzel made two free throws with 1.7 seconds left to give the Hokies an 83-82 win over Virginia on Sunday at John Paul Jones Arena in the regular-season finale for both teams.

Carys Baker emerged as one of the league's most productive forwards, averaging 14.6 points and 6.6 rebounds per game while shooting 44.1 percent from the field. She enters the postseason with 24 double-figure and nine 20-point performances. In ACC play, Baker's production increased, posting 14.9 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.3 blocks per game, including five 20-point performances. She finished in double figures in 15 of the 18 league contests.

One of Baker's best games of the season came at Stanford on Feb. 12, where she was 10-for-15 from the floor and 4-for-7 from 3-point range en route to 24 points, adding seven boards.

Baker, Wenzel, and the Hokies start their postseason journey in the second round of the 2026 Ally ACC Women's Tournament at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 5 against Georgia Tech.
