Virginia Tech’s 2026 recruiting class received a major boost today as four-star DE Andrew Rogers out of Greensboro, NC committed to the Hokies.

Rogers chose the Hokies over his other top 5 schools of Florida State, LSU, Auburn, and Michigan State plus other offers from Georgia, Notre Dame, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Arkansas, Missouri, Kentucky, Kansas, UCLA, and more. This comes after Rogers reclassified from the 2027 class to 2026 earlier this summer.

He is the second four-star commitment for the Hokies this cycle along with four-star OT Thomas Wilder out of the 757. He is VT’s third commit from North Carolina this cycle alongside three-star DL Kamdon Gillespie and three-star OT Tyrell Simpson, and the third defensive line commitment along with Gillespie and three-star DE Kamren Johnson out of the 757.

Rogers is a strong addition to the Hokies’ recruiting class with massive upside given his athleticism and his tremendous size at 6’6’’ and 240 pounds. He’s also had tremendous production during his high school career with 76 tackles including 34 for loss with 23 sacks as a junior per MaxPreps.

DL coach J.C. Price continues to be one of Virginia Tech’s strongest recruiters with this being one of his most impressive recruiting victories of his VT tenure.

There will certainly be plenty of schools that will keep recruiting Rogers till Signing Day especially given his recent reclassification. While the Hokies will have plenty of work to do to hold onto him, it’s better to be trying to keep him in the boat as a commit rather than him entering the fall uncommitted.
