Da Shawn Stone VT Official June 2022

Virginia Tech had several major targets on campus this past weekend for official visits including talented Asheville, NC DB DaShawn Stone who enjoyed his trip to Blacksburg as proven by what he shared on Twitter and what he told us.

"The visit was great," Stone said. "The players and coaches were really welcoming and nice."

Stone gave us some insights into what he did during his visit with it being plenty of the standard fare including the high-end eating.

"I went bowling, took pictures, and ate at a bunch of nice places," Stone said.

Stone also spent a lot of time with safeties coach Pierson Prioleau as you might expect with Stone adding this on how his conversations and time went with Prioleau.

"It was great. He's a good guy who knows a lot about the game," Stone said.

Stone also told us that "how nice and supportive the coaching staff is" is what stood out to him during his visit as Tech's staff clearly made a strong impression.

All of this comes as Stone is in the midst of his June official having taken an official to UVA prior with plans to take an official visit to Duke next weekend while also looking to get one scheduled to Wake Forest which could be this weekend. This comes as Stone looks to make a decision before the start of his senior season adding that a key factor in his decision will be his "comfort level with the players and coaches."

Based on what Stone shared with us, Tech clearly made a strong impression in those areas with the Asheville, NC standout adding this on how his visit impacted his recruitment and where Virginia Tech stands in it.

"It helped me to better see VT and their goals and make it higher on my list," Stone said.

Virginia Tech made a strong impression on Asheville, NC DB DaShawn Stone with the Hokies continuing to strengthen their case as they battle multiple regional ACC rivals for Stone.
