Three-Star RB Durell Robinson Recaps "Great" Virginia Tech Visit

Durell Robinson 1 Jan 22 2022 Junior Day

Three-star RB Durell Robinson was among the most notable visitors at Virginia Tech yesterday with the three-star RB having a "great" Virginia Tech visit as he shared with us and tweeted out.

He had this to say about why his visit to Blacksburg was "great".

"How genuine the coaches were and the energy they had for sure," Robinson said.

Robinson gave us some insight on the itinerary of his weekend visit to Blacksburg as well.

"We toured the facilities, had a meeting with our position coaches, took some pictures, and then they showed us the sandman entrance in the stadium," Robinson said.

Robinson added that Virginia Tech's Enter Sandman entrance stood out the most during his visit with Robinson giving us some insight on how the Hokies' coaching staff sought to recreate that experience during his visit.

"Coach (Brent) Pry took us to the stadium and let it play on the big screen and had the audio blasting and it just gave me and my teammates chills through our bodies," Robinson said.

His visit also included spending lots of time with offensive coordinator Tyler Bowen and RBs coach Stu Holt with his time with both going quite well. He had this to say specifically about his time with Tyler Bowen.

"It was great. I truly believe Coach Bowen will take Virginia Tech offense to the next level, and he explained to me how I will fit into that offense and how he will get the ball to me not only on the ground but also in the air," Robinson said.

He had this to say about his time and conversations with Stu Holt.

"It was great as well teaching me the difference between high school ball and college ball and what I would have to do to get on the field early, but overall he taught me a lot in the few moments we got to speak," Robinson said.

So with this visit in mind, we asked Robinson if he had any schools standing out in his recruitment and this is what he had to say and why.

"Not as of right now, I can say Virginia Tech definitely got a head start," Robinson said. "They were the first to invite me to visit their campus and I actually enjoyed myself."

Keep an eye on Durell Robinson as the Hokies made a strong impression on one of their likely top RB targets in the 2023 class.
