Virginia Tech Makes the Top 3 for Three-Star WR Peter Gonzalez

Three-star WR Peter Gonzalez is down to his top 3 with Virginia Tech among those making the cut.

The Hokies were joined by Penn State and Miami in the top 3 for Gonzalez. Several Power 5 programs among other offers missed the cut for Gonzalez including Pittsburgh, Wisconsin, Maryland, Cincinnati, Iowa State, West Virginia, and Syracuse.

He had this to say about why VT made his top 3.

"They’ve been showing me love since they offered. Every times I’ve been there it’s been a great time and the staff has been amazing

He had this to say about why Penn State made his top 3.

"They’ve shown love since the jump and always been consistent with me," Gonzalez said.

He had this to say about why Miami made his top 3.

"Miami is a great school and the staff is doing something special down there," Gonzalez said.

It shouldn't come as a surprise that Gonzalez is considering programs like VT, Penn State, and Miami given his HS production. During his junior season, Gonzalez had 43 receptions for 737 yards and 8 touchdowns while averaging over 17 yards per reception.

So what has made him a talented WR? He had this to say about his strengths and weaknesses.

"My strength are definitely my size and speed. I’m a big receiver but still can move. My weakness is probably my experience. I’ve only been playing WR since my sophomore year," Gonzalez said.

Looking ahead, Gonzalez told us that he has two official visit scheduled with Virginia Tech hosting him on June 23rd-25th after Penn State hosts him on June 16th-18th. He then plans to make his decision in July so those official visits will almost certainly have a significant impact on his decision.

So what will be the key factors when he makes his decision?

"What my family has to say and which school offers me the best opportunity to succeed," Gonzalez said.
