As the 2024 men's basketball recruiting cycle continues, Virginia Tech continues to be right in the hunt for some of their top targets. That includes four-star PF Ryan Jones Jr who included the Hokies in his top 8 recently.

Virginia Tech was joined by Louisville, Miami, Florida, Xavier, Oklahoma State, Missouri, and LSU in his top 8. Illinois, NC State, Texas A&M, and Ole Miss are among the most notable offers for him to not make the cut.
Jones currently has an official visit to Virginia Tech scheduled the first weekend of September surrounding the Hokies' primetime football season opener against Old Dominion. He also has official visits scheduled to Florida, Miami, LSU, Missouri, and Xavier.
Florida seems like a significant challenge for the Gainesville, FL native while Miami will also likely be a challenge given the in-state boost even with Jones being right in the Gators' backyard. Tech clearly has a decent chance in his recruitment though especially with the four-star forward taking an official visit to Blacksburg next month.
The Hokies may have plenty of work ahead to try to land Ryan Jonea Jr, but they have put themselves right in the hunt for one of their top frontcourt targets in the 2024 class.
