Virginia Tech Wrestling's 184-pound starting lineup issue has been resolved as the Hokies have landed a commitment from Michigan's Jaden Bullock.
Bullock is the Hokies' third transfer commit of the offseason, joining Maryland's 2025 Big 10 #1 seed Ethen Miller and Chattanooga's SoCon champion Sergio Desiante.
He comes to Virginia Tech after starting at 184 pounds for Michigan the past two seasons, reaching the 2024 NCAA Championships where he went 2-2. He had a disappointing 2025 season but has shown the potential to be a top 15-20 184-pound wrestler in the country at minimum next season.
He is also a Virginia native who wrestled at Oscar Smith HS in the 757 prior to going to Michigan for the past five years. He will have one year of eligibility remaining.
Bullock fills a massive void for the Hokies following the departure of TJ Stewart. The 184-pound weight class is the weakest by far in the ACC heading into next season following the departures of Stewart and NC State's Dylan Fishback (Ohio State). At this point, it's likely fair to call Bullock the early favorite to win the ACC title at 184 pounds.
He also gives the Hokies a nice one-year stopgap to the younger options that will be arriving into the program this offseason including Ryan Burton, the likely heir to Bullock at 184 pounds in 2026-27.
With Bullock on board, the Hokies should be done in the transfer portal with their lineup fully in place.
