Virginia Tech added some more frontcourt size to their 2025 class, landing a commitment from 6'11' C Solomon Davis out of Washington D.C. area DeMatha Catholic.

Davis told us that he chose the Hokies over Maryland, Richmond, and Old Dominion while Georgetown and Mississippi State were also showing interest. He is the third high school commit for the Hokies this cycle, joining three-star C Christian Gurdak and three-star F Sin'Cere Jones.

He is the seventh overall addition to the 2025-26 roster along with his fellow two HS commits plus West Virginia PF/C Amani Hansberry, Delaware PG Izaiah Pasha, UNLV SG Jailen Bedford, and German C Antonio Dorn.

This moves leaves the Hokies with 12 total players as of now for the 2025-26 season: the seven additions plus Tobi Lawal, Jaden Schutt, Tyler Johnson, Ben Hammond, and walk-on Peter Carr (who we have returning still as of now).

From what I've heard per source, Davis is considered more of a developmental player who likely will redshirt next season as of now. Of course, he will certainly have the opportunity to prove that he can earn a spot in the rotation when he arrives over the summer.
