Virginia Tech Offers Fast-Rising 2023 SF Jamie Kaiser Jr

Mike Young 2

Talented 2023 SF Jamie Kaiser Jr has emerged as one of the fastest-rising 2023 recruits in the Mid-Atlantic with Virginia Tech extending an offer to the in-state standout recently.

Kaiser received the offer during a phone conversation with his dad and head coach Mike Young with Kaiser being "really excited because it's close to home." He also added this on how his conversation went with Mike Young as a whole.

"It went well. He talked about how he liked my football background because it shows toughness along with my positional size," Kaiser said.

Kaiser has seen his offer list grow a ton especially among larger schools lately which shouldn't come as a surprise as he has been impressing many at major tournaments of late. He's also doing that after a strong season for Bishop Ireton in the prestigious D.C. area WCAC where he averaged a league-best 20.7 points plus 7.1 rebounds per game.

Here's a look at the full offer list for Kaiser.

  • ACC: Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech
  • Big East: Creighton
  • Big 10: Wisconsin
  • Big 12: TCU
  • Atlantic 10: George Mason, George Washington, Rhode Island, Richmond, Saint Joseph's, VCU
  • MAC: Ohio
  • Mountain West: Utah State
  • Southern: ETSU
  • Sun Belt: Coastal Carolina
  • America East: NJIT
  • Big Sky: Southern Utah
  • Big West: Long Beach State
  • CAA: Towson
  • Ivy League: Columbia, Harvard, Yale
  • MAAC: Fairfield
  • MEAC: Howard
  • Patriot League: Loyola (MD)

Kaiser's offer list seems likely to grow more with Baylor, UVA, Ohio State, Indiana, Illinois, Marquette, Stanford, Mississippi State, Boston College, and Vanderbilt also showing interest in Kaiser.

Virginia Tech has their fair share of ties to the prestigious WCAC league (and the private school leagues in the DC-Baltimore region) that Kaiser plays in via Mike Jones along with success recruiting those leagues having landed Rodney Rice and Darren Buchanan Jr in the 2022 recruiting cycle.

That definitely raises the intrigue, but how does this VT offer impact Kaiser's recruitment personally and where the Hokies stand in it?

"It has some impact because it’s in arguably the best conference in college basketball and it’s definitely near to the top," Kaiser said.

Kaiser also said that the Hokies are definitely near the top for him because of the fact that Tech is in a "great conference" and he feels VT would be a "good fit."

Looking ahead, Kaiser told us that he's looking to make his decision at the "end of the summer." With that timeline in mind, Kaiser has taken an official visit to Wisconsin while he's also looking at visiting the Hokies, Harvard, George Mason, and Rhode Island.

So with timeline in mind, what will be the key factors in his decision?

"My relationship with the coaches and comfort on campus," Kaiser said.

Virginia Tech is poised to be a major player for fast-rising 2023 SF Jamie Kaiser Jr with the next objective for the Hokies being to lock in an official visit to Blacksburg.
