Virginia Tech Offers Three-Star RB Da'Jaun Riggs

Dance Team 4 VT Miami 2022 HT

Virginia Tech has sent out a few more offers recently including one to three-star RB Da'Jaun Riggs out of St John's College High School in Washington D.C.

Riggs told us that he was "excited" to receive an offer during a conversation with RBs coach Elijah Brooks. He had this to say about how his conversation with Brooks was as a whole.

"We were catching up, him informing me of the change of him coaching at Virginia Tech, snd how he loved my film, and then he offered me," Riggs said.

Brooks has been recruiting Riggs for a while dating well back into his tenure at Maryland with the two building a strong relationship. Riggs had this to say about why this is the case.

"Because he makes sure I’m good and even with the change of schools, he made sure he reached out and got me down to VT," Riggs said.

Riggs has built up a strong offer list to date with the Hokies joining Oregon, Wisconsin, Ole Miss, Pittsburgh, Maryland, Minnesota, Georgia Tech, Boston College, Rutgers, and more. This shouldn't come as a surprise after he averaged almost 100 rushing yards per game in his first year as a starting RB while also rushing for 17 touchdowns.

So what are the strengths and weaknesses of his game? Here's what Riggs had to say.

"I think all around, I have a great game with speed, balance, strength, and vision but my weakness is probably ball security. I don’t fumble but I run with it a little loose," Riggs said.

So how did this offer impact his recruitment and where VT stands in it?

"It meant a lot so it was major (in impact). VT stands up there with my other top five," Riggs said.

As the Hokies look at adding a second RB to their 2024 class, the Hokies have put themselves right in the hunt for three-star RB Da'Jaun Riggs out of Washington D.C.
