Virginia Tech didn't take long to replace East Carolina-bound assistant Antwon Jackson, promoting special assistant Kevin Giltner to fill Jackson's role as Mike Young's third main assistant.

Giltner's promotion will now allow him to go on the road for recruiting alongside Young and fellow assistants Chester Frazier and Christian Webster. His promotion comes after spending a season as a special assistant for Mike Young at Virginia Tech following 6 seasons with Young at Wofford, 5 of which were as an assistant coach.
The promotion shouldn't come as a surprise as Giltner has a strong rapport with Young and has also done quite well in his role in his first year in Blacksburg. Giltner adds to the youth of Young's assistant staff with all three, especially Chester Frazier and Christian Webster, having the potential to become head coaches in the not too distant future.
We will have more as this story develops.
