Virginia Tech head coach Justin Fuente announced that RB transfer Raheem Blackshear has been denied a waiver for immediately eligibility this season after transferring from Rutgers.

Fuente had the following remarks on the NCAA's decision.
"Raheem Blackshear's NCAA waiver was denied. We were shocked and saddened by that. Raheem was shocked. Our administration feels like we have a very strong so we're going to absolutely appeal that and see if we can make any head way there," Fuente said.
Blackshear is still seen as a likely contributor for Virginia Tech this upcoming season who brings lots of versatility to the table should Tech's appeal be successful. In his collegiate career, Blackshear has had 912 rushing yards and 6 touchdowns plus 810 receiving yards and 6 receiving touchdowns on 80 receptions in 2.5 years at Rutgers.
Fuente also called Blackshear a "remarkable talent" who could play a multitiude of positions as the numbers show.
