As reported by those on site, Virginia Tech will be without a pair of star players as Malachi Thomas and Dorian Strong are both out today.
As expected, no RB Malachi Thomas today. He's in street clothes. Left foot in a walking boot. #Hokies

No CB Dorian Strong again. Fifth straight game he's missed with that hand injury. #Hokies

The absences of Dorian Strong and Malachi Thomas are both significant as they've been 2 of the Hokies' top 4-5 players this season.
Thomas' absence is likely the more significant one given Tech's offensive struggles this year though Keshawn King was warming up and seems likely to go. Of course, King did warm up and dress last week but wasn't available still so we'll see if it will be King or if Tech has to go farther down the depth chart.
If King can't go either, the Hokies may turn to veteran Jalen Holston though I would personally love to see Bryce Duke get his chance in that scenario.
Dorian Strong's absence will mean Mansoor Delane will get his second-straight start pairing up with Armani Chatman. Cornerback continues to be one of Tech's most banged up spots with DJ Harvey and Brion Murray set to be the top backups with Strong and Cam Johnson out.
On the other side of the field, Georgia Tech starting QB Jeff Sims was warming up, but apparently is only available in an emergency situation.

A lack of Sims may be the most significant news for either team as Georgia Tech has struggled mightily without him. That also means true freshman Zach Pyron will likely get the start for the Yellow Jackets at QB today.
