Virginia Tech continued to bolster its defensive front through the transfer portal, adding Colorado DE Samuel Okunlola.
He is the eighth defensive line transfer to commit to the Hokies, joining DL Daniel Jennings (who has the size to play DE or DT), Ohio State DT Eric Mensah, Penn State DT Randy Adirika, West Virginia DE Curtis Jones Jr., Missouri DE Javion Hilson, and Penn State DEs Cortez Harris, and Mylachi Williams.
The 6’4”, 250-pound junior spent his freshman year at Pittsburgh, totaling 18 tackles, five sacks, and a forced fumble.
He then transferred to Buffalo in 2024, where he played in all 13 games and started in 10, while racking up 30 tackles and three sacks. Last season was looking to be promising, but he suffered a season-ending shoulder injury in the opening game. In his career, he's totaled 49 tackles, eight sacks, and a forced fumble.
Okunlola will have one year of eligibility remaining, granted he could receive a medical redshirt waiver for 2027.
