Virginia Tech Women's Basketball's 2025 recruiting class continues to get stronger as the Hokies landed a commit today from four-star forward Aniya Trent out of Springboro, Ohio.

Trent chose the Hokies over fellow top schools Clemson, Penn State, and Washington along with other offers from North Carolina, Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio State, Michigan State, Illinois, Wisconsin, Cincinnati, Butler, Xavier, Dayton, and more.

She is the Hokies' third four-star commit for their 2025 class joining PG Kate Sears out of North Carolina and forward Amani Jenkins out of Iowa. Though Trent isn't ranked in ESPN's top 100, she is just outside that group and could easily jump in with a strong senior season.

Megan Duffy and her staff have done an impressive job on the recruiting trail since their arrival, building a strong recruiting class for her first cycle. This has been a class that has been a blend of traditional VT recruiting territories in the Mid-Atlantic with Sears along with some Midwest roots via Jenkins and Trent.

The Hokies seem likely to take another two high school recruits if they can with only 11 of their 15 roster spots filled on the current team and the Hokies having both Matilda Ekh and Rose Micheaux in their final year of eligibility. The focus will likely shift more towards adding a couple more guards along with a true center as Trent and Jenkins both profile as forwards.
