Seldon is the tenth transfer commit for the Hokies including the third with a running back background along with Bowling Green All-MAC First Teamer Terion Stewart and Centeal Missouri standout Marcellous Hawkins. He is also the third transfer addition originally from Virginia, joining Clemson S Sherrod Covil Jr and Hampton DL Jahzari Priester.
During his two seasons at Tennessee, Seldon ran for 224 yards, one touchdown, and an average of 4.7 yards per carry. He has two years of eligibility remaining plus a redshirt if he needs it.
Seldon for now joins what is a very full running back room now that also returns Jeremiah Coney, Tyler Mason, and PJ Prioleau while adding Jeff Overton Jr from the HS ranks in addition to Stewart, Hawkins, and Seldon from the portal. However, wide receiver is definitely a possibility with 247 Sports’ VT Scoop listing him as a RB/WR in their reporting of the news and TSL’s Andy Bitter reporting that Seldon is likely to play WR rather than RB.
Seldon also continues the trend of former big-time, in-state recruits to return to VT after stints at other high-profile P4 programs, joining Sherrod Covil Jr this cycle. Tech’s three previous additions in that mold have had success with Antwaun Powell-Ryland developing into a star while Kelvin Gilliam and Kaleb Spencer had solid 2024s and both project as starters in 2025.
