Three-star IOL Adrian Hamilton had flipped from Virginia Tech to Michigan.

The 6-foot-3, 300 lb. lineman hailing from D.C. committed to the Hokies and Brent Pry’s staff in July, choosing Tech over teams like Michigan State, UVA, and others.

It felt like it was only a matter of time before Hamilton officially announced his commitment to Michigan.

Hamilton took an official visit to Ann Arbor this past weekend after gaining an offer from them in early October. He was a big proponent of playing for Michigan and spoke highly of the Wolverines on multiple occasions.

After James Franklin was hired, there were no reports of him taking a visit to Blacksburg, which made it increasingly likely he might look to play somewhere else, with Michigan being the front-runner to flip the Hokies' commit.

Another reason for his decision is most likely from the influx of offensive line commits at VT. Franklin has brought in five new OL commits since his arrival in four-star Thomas Wilder and three-stars Roseby Lubintus, Marlen Bright, Maddox Cochrane, and Benjamin Eziuka. Three-star offensive linemen Buddy Wegdam and Tyrell Simpson have also reaffirmed their Virginia Tech commitments to Virginia Tech.

Adrian Hamilton is the second commit from Brent Pry’s staff to decommit under James Franklin, along with four-star QB Cole Bergeron from Louisiana.
