Virginia Tech has made some big splashes on the recruiting trail at safety including four-star S Quentin Reddish last cycle, with the Hokies keeping him on board despite a late push from Ohio State last cycle. This year's class has the potential to be one of the strongest we've seen while 2026 has some intriguing names in play as well.
With that said, here's a look at where things stand for the Hokies at safety.
2025: Sheldon Robinson Starts What Could Be a Big Class
Virginia Tech is set to take a large defensive back class in numbers, but this could also be a big recruiting class in terms of the talent, ratings, and offers for these guys.
Let's start with the commit that the Hokies already have in Sheldon Robinson who surprised many including myself when he decided to commit to VT on his official visit and cancel two official visits to Duke and UVA in the process. So with Robinson on board, the Hokies could still end up taking a couple more safeties with some of these guys potentially having the size to grow into the STAR linebacker spot similar to Keonta Jenkins.
Four-star S/ATH Messiah Delhomme out of Newport News, VA has emerged as one of the Hokies' top overall defensive targets...
