Our Virginia Tech Football recruiting breakdown series heads to the trenches as we dive into the offensive line. Check out all of our other recruiting breakdowns at the links below.
After taking a smaller offensive line class last cycle, Virginia Tech seems poised for a bigger class this cycle and are in good position for a few of their targets. The Commonwealth of Virginia hasn't always been known for having tons of offensive line talent, but this cycle is fairly solid with the next cycle being the strongest in-state OL class we've seen in a long time.
So with that said, let's dive into where things stand for the Hokies with their offensive line recruiting.
2025:
Let's start with 2025 where the Hokies have already landed one commitment and are in the hunt for several other offensive lineman.
The Hokies got their 2025 offensive line class going early this year landing a commitment from three-star OT Carter Stallard out of Christiansburg, VA in late January. The 6'7'' local standout was one of the Hokies' top offensive tackle targets for months leading up to his commitment, with Ron Crook doing a great job to close out his commitment quickly even as more offers stacked up from Louisville, West Virginia, Maryland, Duke, Pittsburgh, Virginia, and more.
When the Hokies have talent right in their backyard like Stallard, they have to close the deal and land those commitments, with Tech delivering and landing his commitment. Landing him as the foundation for their 2025 offensive line class was a strong way to start this cycle in the trenches.
He will be back on campus next weekend for an official visit, where he'll be one of at least three offensive linemen visiting.
