In any sport, you are likely to go through plenty of ups and downs during your career. Well Sean Pedulla's December could be described as mostly down with struggles against FAU and Auburn before suffering a foot injury against Louisville that caused him to miss a pair of games and limited him against Vermont.
When Pedulla took the floor against Wake Forest, the junior point guard struggled and didn't exactly look comfortable or in the zone on the floor. After that game Mike Young mentioned that Pedulla had faced limited contact during practice and felt the lack of physicality faced since his injury prior to facing a physical Wake Forest played a role in his struggles that day.
That game did give Pedulla a chance to get some live contact reps. As he continued his injury recovery, Pedulla only continued to get closer to full speed and was able to more regularly face contact, something that he needed to do to find his rhythm and get out of the recent struggled caused in part by his foot injury.
His continued recovery started to show fruit last Saturday when Pedulla found his stride at Florida State, taking over to nearly lead an incredible comeback for the Hokies via an 11-1 run. In the process, Pedulla matched his career-high with 26 points on 9-17 shooting including 3-6 from three-point range. The junior point guard did have some struggles early in that game, but slowly started to look like the All-ACC level star many believed he could become this season.
