Last week, NC Central head coach Trei Oliver accused Virginia Tech of tampering, specifically having a staffer on the sideline for NC Central's game against Howard on November 15th.
After VT put out a statement last week saying that they would look into the matter, head coach Brent Pry today had the following comment when asked about it.
"Obviously, I was surprised by the comment. But the university, they vetted it, did their research, and I feel confident in the process and where we're at with things," Pry said.
When asked further about whether Virginia Tech was still investigating to see if any wrongdoing took place, Pry had a short remark.
"Yeah, I'm not concerned about it," Pry said.
Pry was then asked further as to whether that meant that no disciplinary actions would be required or not, and had this response.
"Not anything that I'm aware of. I know that our university vets those type of things very seriously and takes them very seriously. and they've done that," Pry said.
Based on what Brent Pry shared, it appears that Virginia Tech's investigation has determined that there was no wrongdoing that took place and that the accusation that Oliver made has no basis. Of course, it remains to be seen if any other investigations happen off of this investigation whether that's by NC Central, the ACC, the NCAA, or someone else.
As of now, Pry is not worried about any disciplinary action being required for anyone on his staff related to the accusation.
Oliver sounds like a UVA Coach Elliott buddy.
